Is a powerful, motivational “thing.”
We have all been through so much in the last year; we have seen a virus ravage our way of life, we have seen governments fall and rise and genocides, explosions, weird weather events and more. Yet, we have also seen the very best of humanity and nature - so many of you stepped up to help others facing food insecurity and shortages. Others made masks and accessories. Some of you gave of your time in ways no news media outlet will ever report. Thank you for reminding us that there is always something we can do.
Hope is around the corner. We cannot slide into complicity - our health and safety must come first because without that, our economies will not matter. Once we are out of the proverbial woods, there is much reconciliation needed. Not just in the way in which we see people but in terms of how we live our lives. Stay strong, stay blessed, stay safe and stay within Hope. Remember that hope takes root where it is planted, watered and nurtured.
Keep taking care of each other. We are indeed each other's keepers, as Covid has shown us. God bless, be kind, and please go plant some trees.
A belated Happy New Year to all of you!
You know, every time I turn around these days, it feels as if things and people are getting weirder and crazier. And I know it’s not just me…
I’ve said this before, and it bears repeating: We need to be kinder to each other. Accept each other as we are. Love and let love, live and let live. The differences don’t matter- It’s what we have in common that binds us.
We are One race. One human family. One people.
Don’t bother me with your labels. Come to me with your ideas for betterment.
Have a kinder, more loving, more accepting year.
My whole heart goes out to the Iranian and Canadian communities who lost so many loved ones in the devastating crash of Ukraine International Airlines Flight PS752. May God comfort you and ease your pain.
My heart also goes out to all those struggling on the front lines of devastating fires, floods, blizzards, snowpocalypses, climate change, severe famines, droughts, poverty and dehumanization of religious minorities. (Let’s do more to stop that!)
Hey fellow Vancouverites,
What’s up with you young fools who think it’s okay to sit in the special areas on the bus which are clearly designated for seniors and people with mobility issues and not get up when they are demonstrably in need?
Just because you have a long commute, it’s no excuse to get on the bus, sit in the designated area and pay so much attention to what’s on your phone, that you completely ignore the requests to move. Or you intentionally ignore the elder people who are forced to stand. Or ignore the people with clear and painful mobility issues who are forced to wait for 30 minutes because you can’t allow him/her to get on the bus ahead of you (after waiting in the same line as you for the bus.) Shame on you! Especially you idiots who ride the 49 Metrotown bus and get on at Main and 49th.
Get off your ass!
And those of you who wait at one bus stop just to get off at the next stop, move your ass! Every time you do that, you delay one of us who is trying very hard, on our very long commute, to catch our connecting bus home. Try walking the 10 minutes and see what happens.
Gosh people have become lazy! Enough already!
And to the people who think it’s okay to use profanity and the word “like” for every other word, it’s really not. It’s not. It’s not. No wonder people don’t want to learn English when they hear rubbish like that. Get it together people!!
I wish those of you who spend so much time gaming while you are commuting could spend that time learning something (like manners) so that when you are asked to move, you’re not offended at the person making the request. Better yet, you’d get up and offer the seat like you’re supposed to do anyway!
Go learn something. Quit the vaping. Quit the MJ. Do something nice for once. Kindness is its own reward. =)
And it’s getting hotter!
Let’s go plant some trees and stop throwing your plastics everywhere.
Go on. Plant some trees. We can still do some good.
And be good to one another. This world has too much crazy; let’s all take a moment to breathe and see ourselves in other people.
